2005 Pontiac Grand Prix: Transmission Dipstick Broken?

How to replace broken Transmission Dipstick.

If the dipstick is broken, then it cannot be repaired. It has to be replaced.Go to professional auto part store gets branded dipstick part with warranty from the store.

The new dipstick just slide into the hole where old dipstick was actually located.

Its simple.
But in some cases you will see that new dipstick is not getting in.Then wait, please reconfirm that old dipstick which is broken is completely out and its any broken part is not remaining in and blocking new dipstick to get in.

Check the condition of the o-ring and the tube for excessive paint or kinks/bends in the tube.
There really is no secret here other than it must be perfectly straight when installing it, no burrs, kinks or excessive paint and lubricating the tube helps a bit.

The tube goes into the hole.Properly see the hole that the tube goes in to.And insert the tube slowly.

It is in the lower part of the engine block just above the oil pan.Make sure all of the dipstick tube came out and it is not bent or broken off.

See the diagram shown below:---

dipstick

The Image shows it going through the exhaust manifold and where it goes into the block just above the oil pan and oil level sensor. There is no adapter. It goes directly into a hole in the block. You may need a mirror to see it while the engine is in the vehicle however it is there. You should be able to see it from below the vehicle with a mirror. Look for the oil level sensor, above it and slightly towards the passenger side of the vehicle. The hole is almost vertical at approximately a 15 degree angle.

This details will help.
Thanks.

1989 Pontiac Grand Prix: Shifting Problem?

The gears will not shift until the gas/accelerator pedal is is depressed.

In this case first check,if its every gear shift issue or only occurs and noticed while shifting from 3rd gear to overdrive or in higher gears only.

If the problem is noticed while shifting at all gears then

This is usually due to a faulty valve body inside the transmission which is causing the shifting delay until you let up on accelerator. This is not a cheap repair, runs around $750-800 parts and labor.

Sometimes draining the fluid and adding some Lucas Transmission Additive will help, but usually only a temporary solution that will only last a month or two.

This details will help.

2012 Honda Accord: Lumbar Support Issue?

Its very common issue and many Honda vehicle users are in concern with this issue.

Honda is aware of the issue and some rumors that they may come out with a redesign, but nothing firm yet. Best I can tell you is to stay in contact with Honda on this issue.

Many Honda users are thinking of switching passenger seat  to driver seat to resolve this issue.
But i don't recommend this.

Because You cannot switch the passenger and driver's seat due to the airbag system in the seats as they are different for the two seats. As you could not plug them in, this would disable the whole airbag system.

As of right now with no solutions forthcoming from Honda, the only option is to set lumber support at minimum and purchase a lower lumbar support pillow from a medical supply store. I know it isnt ideal, but at this point that is the only viable option which many other hons vehicle users have tried and are adjusting with it.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

ABS and VTM-4 Warning Lights ON Dash?

While driving the Warning lights come up on dash.
The vehicle runs fine but this warning lights are coming up.

The maintenance Required light, the ABS light,The VTM-4 warning light.

In your vehicle is driving fine with no issues at all and you just notice this warning lights coming up.Then its not to worrier.
Many a times this lights comes up when vehicle gets driven on bumpy roads or after the vehicle gets jumped on a road bump. This jerks the internal cars system and this lights just comes up.

most of the time this is simply due to the rear wheels spinning at different rates of speed due to the bumpiness of the road causing one to lose total traction with the ground. The left and right rear speed sensors record the different rates of speed and turn both warning lights on as they set fault codes.

You can disconnect your battery for 10 minutes to reset the computer and turn off the warning lights, but make sure you have your 5 digit anti-theft radio code to input into the radio as disconnecting the battery will lock it.

If the warning lights again come back on, then you will need to have the ABS control module scanned for fault codes and go from there.

As to the maintenance required light coming on the going off, this could be a loose connection behind the dash for the light, but will need to be scanned for fault codes to diagnose.

This details will help.
Thanks.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Stalls and Quits Running?

The jeep starts and runs fine, then suddenly in between driving it stalls and then quits completely. It will only start after waiting for few minutes.
But same procedure for stall and quit repeats.

In this case there are few basics that needs to be checked.
It can be weak or dirty fuel pump or faulty fuel filter or its the issue with spark plugs.
But if all this are checked ok or are already been replaced properly then,

the most common cause of this is a faulty crankshaft position sensor. It sends a signal to the computer for when engine is at TDC that controls sychronizing the firing of the fuel injectors and plugs. when this signal is lost, then engine just dies. When engine dies, the computer as well as the crank sensor resets, so signal is restored which is why it will recrank without waiting 10-20 minutes. And starts in few minutes say 3 to 5 minutes.

Also you can try retrieving the error codes stored in the ECM computer and see if there are any codes in it.

To pull codes, turn ignition key to on-off-on-off-on, leaving it in on position. The check engine light will flash a series of blinks. Count the blinks. Three long blinks, pause, followed 2 long blinks would be code 32 for example.

Most of the time the cran sensor will not set a fault code unless it has a hard failure - no start condition.

This details will help.
Thanks.

1997 Ford Taurus: Cylinder misfires?

The misfire problem is noticed on many vehicles.

Basically in this cases the vehicle runs rough at low RPM,but drives fine at Higher RPM above 2500.

The basics needs to be checked first for misfire problem.

Plug wires,PCV valve,air filter,fuel filter etc.

When there is Misfire,in most cases the check engine light comes on.Get the Error code scanned and that will tell which cylinder is misfiring.

Suppose It shows Cylinder 5 misfire then inspect Cylinder 5.

Having spark to a cylinder doesnt mean that it has good compression.

If you have an ohmmeter, disconnect the harness connector to the #5 fuel injector and on injector, check resistance between its terminals. It should be 11-18ohms. If outside that range, replace the injector.

If ok, then it is likely that compression is low. You can rent a compression gage and test yourself to confirm

Many a times this problem is cause due to plug wire or injector harness connector loose.

If compression is low, then a wet test is done on compression to determine cause. Pour 1-2ounces of engine oil into spark plug tube into cylinder, then redo compression test. If compression comes up, then it is piston rings. If compression stays low, then it is the valves, which is the suspect in many cases.

Getting this possibilities checked will help.
Thanks.

2008 KIA Optima: A/C Blower Motor Works Intermittently?

The blower motor suddenly stops working and after few days all works fine and suddenly it will stop running.

There are few things to inspect and confirm before you directly replace blower motor.

This will be due to either a loose connector at the blower motor or a dead spot in the motor.
The blower motor is located underneath the right side of the dash. If you look underneath the dash behind the glovebox you will see it.
First, try wiggling the connector to it and see if it will start working. If it does, then make sure connector is tight and no loose wires in to the connector.
If it doesnt start working, then replace the blower motor.
It is exacly 1/2 hour labor to replace it and about $120 for the part.
You can replace it yourself. Disconnect the harness connector to it, then remove the 3 screws for it and pull down and out of hvac housing. Install new on in reverse.

See below the helping diagrams shown the Removal and installation of blower motor:-----

Wrench Light and Emission Light ON Dash?

Warning light with Wrench indicator is ON.Also Emission control warning light is ON.

Basically this illuminate when there is error code stored in vehicles computer,
To know what the exact problem is or what is the reason for this lights to come up ON dash. The Computer needs to be scanned by OBD scan tool.

Mostly the check engine light only comes on when the onboard computer detects a fault in either the engine management system, transmission, or emission control system. Faults can range from vacuum leak, engine misfire, transmission problem, emission control leak, one of dozens of engine or transmission sensors, or even internal engine or transmission failure.
There are over 800 fault codes that can cause the check engine light to come on.
And not every one has symptoms you can feel or see or hear.

The only way to determine which of the over 800 faults is responsible is to have the onboard computer read with a diagnostic scanner. once this is done and the fault code retreived then pinpoint diagnosis can be done and repair done.

Because the emission light is also on, this narrows it down to about 150-200 fault codes, which is still too many for anyone to guess at.

You can try tightening your gas cap and see if the lights go off. If they do not, then you will absolutely need to have the onboard computer scanned for fault codes in order to know the area of concern and proceed from there.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2006 Toyota Camry: Power Door Locks Not Working?

The Doors get locked or unlocked by Key,if you do it manually. But this whole procedure will not get operated by remote. The power door locks not operating.

The car starts and runs fine,no issue with that.

In this case first try replacing the Batteries in the remote. The battery tends to go weak or faulty and this causes no remote operation. But if batteries are already been replaced or even after replacing the battery the problem is same.
Then there are two possibilities that can cause this problem.Either faulty remote itself or its a issue with Door lock receiver.

The door control receiver is located behind the right rear inner quarter panel plastic trim or the remote some how has become unregister with the receiver.
But this can be checked / inspected and tested by dealer or at Professional service centers. They have additional spares with them to test and confirm the issue.

This will help.
Thanks.

2000 Toyota Camry: Idling and Stalling Problem?

In most of such cases you get check engine light on dash.If in this case there is check engine light coming Up on dash, then get the error codes scanned,so as per the error codes retrieved further problem troubleshooting can be done.

But if in case there is no check engine light coming up or no error codes are showing up then other possibilities are to be tried out.

The most common issue for idling and stalling is related to the IAC or Idle air Control valve. It gets built up with carbon and sticks. This is a duty cycle rotary valve on the bottom of the throttle body. The throttle body has to be removed to clean this valve. The throttle body plate and bore need cleaned also. The other issue is the EGR valve. It is notorious to stick in the on position and this will cause the engine to stall also. These 2 things need ruled out first. These two items will not normally set codes either.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2003 Toyota Camry: OBD Code P0037?

This is a 4Cylinder Vehicle.
In such cases you also get other error code like P0136.

The Error code P0037 means that the heater element in the oxygen sensor is below threshold and is not pulling enough current. Typically this means the heater element in the sensor is bad. The computer monitors the current flow through the heater element as the vehicle is started. If It is not within the proper amperage threshold it flags this code. The other code will follow due to the slow performance or response time of the oxygen sensor because the heater is not working. Please dont use Bosch oxygen sensors. They are good but  They do not work well on Toyotas. You need to remove the oxygen sensor and ohm test the heater element in the sensor. Ideally you need to buy a DENSO oxygen sensor. In a few rare cases I have seen where the oxygen sensor will actually burnout the driver in the computer that controls the ground path for the heater element in the oxygen sensor. To confirm this you need to ohm test this sensor.

On a Bosch sensor not sure the color coding of the wires of the actual sensor but on a DENSO there are two black wires a white wire any blue wire that come from the sensor to the connector. The two black wires are the heater circuit. Bank one sensor two is the sensor that is after the catalytic converter/manifold assembly.

You can do ohm testing with the sensor installed you just have to disconnect the electrical connector and place your ohmmeter across the two pins that correspond with the heater circuit which should be the two black wires if Bosch uses the two black wires.

The Ohm reading  should be .9 ohms up to and no more than 1.2 ohms resistance.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2000 Toyota Tacoma: OBD Code P1300 Engine Starts and Quits Running?

Yes due to code P1300 ,you will notice such problems.

The coil in number 1 cylinder is bad. The p1300 is an igniter signal failure and if switched with the coil swap it is bad and this will make the engine stop after a few seconds of running.

The code P1300 is for cylinder no. 1. It is bad.Replacing it will help.

Also in some cases you notice Error code P1305 comes up, in that cases try swapping ignition coil 2 with ignition coil 1 and see if you get error code P1300, if yes then ignition coil cylinder  number 1 is bad.

This details will help.

2012 Toyota Hilux SR5: Immobilizer override and bypass?

The immobilizer from Toyota is the most secure on the market right now. They are virtually impossible to override and bypass. Nothing extra needs to be added. They just can be replaced when gets faulty and this is done by dealer only.

YES the after market Immobilizer system can be bypassed or override.
Just confirm one thing that while getting new immobilizer key is equipped with the immobilizer.

BUT beware:---
Thieves are very creative these days I suppose somebody out there has some technology that does random immobilizer code electronic searches however this equipment would be very expensive. To my knowledge I've never heard of such a device that would allow somebody to program and immobilizer key specific to your car. Toyota has spent millions making sure the system is pretty much impossible to hack. I suppose the most quickest a visible deterrent would be a steering wheel club or lock. However if somebody wanted to get by that they just cut steering wheel and remove it. I am not a fan of aftermarket security systems. They have too many issues and would be easier to bypass than the immobilizer system built into the car.

This details will help you.
Thanks.

Car Runs Fine But Check Engine light is ON?

Car is showing no driving issues or problems but check engine light is ON.
In this case the driving can be continued.
Provided that the check engine light has not started to flash and there is no loss of performance. The most of the time this ends up being an emissions related failure. This could be anything from a loose or leaking gas cap due to corrosion at the filler neck or being something wrong with the charcoal canister or one of the vacuum switching valves going to it. If you have vehicle skid control the VSC light will come on by default. If you can get to a nearby AutoZone or O'Reilly in most states they do free engine code reads. With this malfunction code you can continue further troubleshooting. If its loose gas cap then simply secure the gas cap then have the codes cleared at the same parts store or possibly even you can remove the negative battery cable and this will erase the memory in the computer. This will however delete the memory in your radio settings and other controls. That you will have to reset.

As far as the gas cap being tightened that is always the first thing to do but you need to make sure there's no corrosion around the metal portion of the filler neck so that the rubber seal is nice and tight against the filler neck. The light will not off until the system runs its self test again and everything passes. This can take several drive cycles. The only other way to turn the light off is to clear with a code reader or by removing the negative battery cable. So instead of paying $60 up $100 to have a repair shop pull the malfunction codes and do a preliminary diagnosis, any AutoZone in most states will do this for free. This is a courtesy service that they offer to try and sell additional parts. Make sure you ask them for the specific malfunction code number it should start with the letter designator P and have for numbers after it. The code number does not necessarily tell you exactly what's going on but it get you in the ballpark. So you can start troubleshooting from there.

This details will help.
Thanks.

1991 Toyota Trecel: Engine Starts fine but dies when gets Warm?

The Engine gets full fuel flow while start up,but once the engine gets warm,it dies and stalling is noticed.
In such cases you will see that vehicle will start when throttle feathering is done. But this is temporary source.
First of all see if you get steady check engine light on dash or not.If yes, then get the error codes scanned to troubleshoot the problem.
But if no check engine light coming up and no codes are getting retrieved then in that case the possibility is there that the manifold absolute pressure or map sensor is either damaged out of range or the vacuum hoses leaking going to it. Check this hose and the map sensor voltage at the center pin and make sure it is fluctuating as you apply vacuum to the sensor itself.

The center wire which is the signal input wire to the computer from the map sensor if back probe should have 3.3 up to 3.9 V with the key in the on position as you apply vacuum this voltage should drop down smoothly and evenly. If the voltage remains too high you will run the system extremely rich this can be due to a bad sensor or a leaking vacuum hose going to the intake manifold.

This is most possible cause in this problem.
other possibilities can be faulty ignition coil, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, throttle position sensor.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2005 Toyota Camry: AC will not Turn ON?

A/C not coming on and A?C power also not coming up.
The compressor not turning ON.
In this cases first of check the Magnetic relay.

Put a gauge on the low side and jump the terminals at the magnetic relay to turn the compressor on.If it turns ON,then magnetic relay is faulty. To confirm the relay issue before buying new relay. Try swapping horn relay with Magnetic relay and see the difference.Pull the horn relay out and stick it in place of the magnetic clutch relay to see if that makes any difference.

This Car model System has Manual AC controls.
If the magnetic relay is checked and inspected ok,then other possibility can be faulty Control panel itself.
But before that check the Fuses that controls the A/c system.

In the fuse box under the hood that has the magnetic clutch relay in it you will find four fuses three of which are for the headlight system and one is a 10 amp AC fuse Check this 10 amp ACC fuse is good and does it have 12 V to it. This fuse is the main power supply to the control unit for the light in the switch and the functions of the air-conditioning system in this panel.

Also double checked the 10 amp ECU – B fuse in the left side of the instrument panel. This is another main power supply to the control unit.

If All fuses checked out then, the next step is going to be doing pin by pin voltage tests and resistance checks at the connectors at the back of the control unit.
We know the fuses are good but you have to confirm that the 12 V are getting to the pins at the back the control panel and the control panel itself has the specific ground path with no resistance. If you have power inputs to the back of the panel and your grounds check good then the panel is no good.
The control panel is white module located between the glove box and the center dash components.

If the pin out voltage is also checked ok and all connectors back of control panel looks intact then problem is with AC Amplifier.
It has to be tested and replaced.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2001 Toyota Camry: Wheel Wobble While Braking?

A pulsation is noticed when brakes are applies at slow speed.
IF you feel the pulsation when applying  parking brake at highway speeds this means the drums are out of round. IF the rotors where machined to the minimum thickness and they get hot even a couple of times it will warp the rotors. At our garage we have seen lots of such cases , burned a few times trying to save the rotors by cutting/machining then to the mins. Only to have to replace then a few months later. Probably you are looking at replacing the rotors if the pulsation is felt in the pedal and steering wheel.
Inspect the condition of brake rotors and this will help.
Thanks.

Before Buying 2008 Toyota Solora?

Its a Good Vehicle.
Engine is 3.3L V6 model.
Over all it is a good car. There are some issues that need to be checked. The first thing is the oil pressure feed line/hose that goes to the back cylinder head. There was a recall on this hose. I would replace it with the solid steel line that is available without the rubber line. The mileage is not an issue If  the car has been maintained properly find the service history and make sure the oil changes have been done. Make sure there is no engine rattle when the car is started cold.

Get this possibilities checked, this will help.
Thanks.

High Idle on Chevy Blazer?

Problem -could be vacuum leak/EGR valve/Idle air control valve/throttle position sensor-

A fuel injected engine's idle speed is controlled by the IAC motor. IAC means Idle Air Control.
IAC motor is a controller for the plunger or valve that opens and closes a vacuum port in turn controlling the engine idle speed.
At certain level the  IAC motor cannot control the engine idle speed.
If you get high idle but not rough idle then its not Faultily EGR

Totally not EGR. EGR causes very rough idling and/or stalling, certainly not high idle speed.

The IAC on the other hand, controls how much air gets by the throttle plate when the trottle plate is closed. thus if the IAC is dirty or improperly set, too much air get by. the computer in turn, sets the fuel mixture to match the air the going in to keep the proper ratio.

The first thing to be checked is idle control motor.
There is a small electric motor to open and close a valve that regulates the vaccuum in a fuel injected engine (the vaccuum controls the idle). The motor  fails because of carbon buildup and has to be replaced, and the idle will get back to normal.

If the motor looks ok,then inspect the Idle air control valve. The valve may be clogged by carbon build up and cause this problem.

There is really no way for carbon to get into the IAC valve. You will get a oily buildup on it and in the throttle bore which is caused by reverberation in the intake and the pcv system.

Also you can  check the IAC with an ohm meter. For this  measure the resistance across terminals A & B and C & D ( top two and bottom two terminals). the resistance should be 40-80 ohms, if not, replace it.

If IAC valve checks ok, then you know a more thorough cleaning is needed.

Also while re-installing the IAC that the distance from the IAC mounting flange to the tip of the pintle is less than 1-1/8". If its more than that, press the pintle in, till its less than 1-1/8".

Please confirm this "Are you getting a "Service Engine Soon" light on dash coming up".You should be because the powertrain control module monitors idle speed.Get the error codes scanned that are stored in cars computer.I suggest having a tech who is familiar with using a scanner take a good look at all your Blazers engine sensor data values while it is idleing high and also make darn sure there is no mechanical issues (binding throttle cable, misadjusted cruise cable, dirty throttle bore, etc.)causing the throttle to stick.Do you have a floormat that is interfering with the throttle pedal?Just had to ask because I have seen something as simple as this be overlooked before.

Also check the diffuser on the underside of the throttle body plate. It is held on by rivets. The diffuser can come loose and keep the throttle body open, keeping the idle high. I had this happen to my Blazer, and ended up replacing the plate with a cfm-technologies plate.

IN one our cases at our garage the procedure below solved the problem:-----
There is a clip that secures the cruise control cable that gets broken and this partially jams the throttle cable. Its pretty dangerous because the throttle could've just as easily binded at high throttle as a slightly high idle.

Inspecting this clip will be helpful.

Also other possibility can be dirty MAF( mas air flow sensor or f there is any kind of vacuum leak.

Try this:---  Spray the mass air flow sensor down with "mass air flow sensor cleaning solution" It comes in an aerosol CANS for pretty cheap. Just don't touch it.

In case of vacuum leak. Listen carefully under the hood for a hissing sound and track it down. We notice  this kinds of problem  after changing  cap and rotor. Turns out that we forget to put the vacuum line back on back there that actuates the A/C selector switch.
If vacuum leak is there it can cause a high idle. So to confirm whether there is vacuum leak or not check for broken or dilapidated vacuum hoses on and around the engine.
Vacuum hose  connects to the engine intake manifold or throttle body .Some manufactures  design larger vacuum transfer hose that connects the intake manifold to the IAC (idle air control) motor. If broken or crimped these vacuum lines can cause the engine to lose vacuum which will allow the engine to idle high.

Thanks.

2004 Ford F150: Engine Misfire and Lean Code?

Replace Spark plugs and coil but still Engine misfires and OBD code P0171 is coming up.

First check that do you smell Fuel in the cab or any thing like a fuel leak is noticed.
Also the Check engine light will flash.

The check engine light flashing means the PCM (computer) is still seeing a direct engine misfire and if the spark plugs and coils are all new then its possible you still have a problem with one or more. Start troubleshooting by removing all of them and rechecking to be sure none where cracked during install and when reinstalling them be sure to add a small dab of dielectric grease to each boot to assure there is no spark leakage down the side of any of the spark plugs. The lean code P0171 is in most cases set due to a vacuum leak and on  5.4L engine  its usually one of the ports on the rear bottom side of the intake, there is one on each side of the engine, one is for the break booster and on is for the vapor management valve. Have a look at both for signs of rotting out and leaking.

This details will help.
Thanks.

1984 Chevy :Brake pedal loose?

Brake pedal going all the way to floor. In this cases first check the brake fluid if its low, then fill the fluid till its required level.
If there is air in the brake line it will cause the problem.
But on this old model Chevy Trucks its seen that Master Cylinder goes cracked and leaks the fluid.

Yes it will leak internally into the power brake booster this is what needs to be checked to fix this issue.

The problem is the brake mater cylinder has failed and thats whats leaking fluid and causing the pedal to go to the floor. The master cylinder will need to be replaced to fix this issue and all 4 wheels bled to fix this issue .The Repair cost will be About $300 at a shop almost double $500 at the dealer .This is the next step to fix this issue.

2001 Chevrolet Avalanche: Brake pedal Goes all the way to the floor?

The Brake related parts replaced but still brake pedal is very loose and will go all the way to the floor.

Try bleeding brake lines. There is still some air in the line that is causing the problem.

Try this procedure. Some time normal brake bleeding procedure don't help in getting  obtaining a solid pedal  on these trucks. Take a hose and install it over the bleeder. Run it from the bleeder into a bottle of brakes fluid. Open the bleeder, pump the brakes slowly for 5 pumps of the pedal. close the bleeder. Repeat this procedure from RR, LR, RF, then LF. One other thing to try before you do that, is have someone hold the pedal to the floor, while holding the pedal down, open each of the 2 lines at the master cylinder. If you get a shot of fluid out of those fittings, you are good to proceed to the procedure I mentioned earlier. You have to make sure you have pressure present at the master to even flow down to the calipers. Try this and see if you get a good pedal. This is the method that most garage professionals apply on these trucks.

Full the master cylinder with fluid. Pump the pedal and have someone hold it down. Open 1 of the lines at the master cylinder and allow a stream of forceful fluid to shoot out. If there are any bubbles. Repeat until good. Pump the pedal again and do that on the other line of the master.

Thanks.

2006 Ford F150: Rough Idle and Vibration?

The Engine Idles Rough and Vibration is noticed while driving.

In some cases the Vibration increases as the Engine is warmed up.

The most common cause is a faulty ignition coil, This truck is 5.4L engine has this truck has 8 of them. All 8 are the same part number. If you have a check engine light, Have the codes read, and they will indicate the cylinder that has the bad coil, If you don't have a check engine light, which is common on Fords, you can start on cylinder one and install the coil. If the truck runs the same, put the old coil back in and move on to the next cylinder. Repeat until you find the cylinder that when the coil is replaced, the truck runs better. Another option is to unplug each coil, one by one, and look for the engine to change the way its running. If the coil is good, the engine will change when it is unplugged. If the coil is bad, there will be no change at all. Between those 2 processes, they should lead you to the faulty coil.

This details will help.

Ford F-Series Rough Idle/Vibration?

Basically in this cases it feels like engine not getting gas and feels very rough idle.

1996 Ford F-150 engine idle is rough.

The problem your describing does sound like a fuel pressure concern and when a fuel pump begins to fail it will overheat and this cause the fuel to foam and the engine will run poorly, once the pump cools down it usually run normal again till the next time, I would start with installing a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail service port again and monitor fuel pressure while the problem is occurring, as per specs the ford F-150  1996 fuel pressure should be 45 to 60 PSI, anything less means the pump is failing and needs to be replaced.

1993 Toyota Corolla: Steering Wheel Vibrates at Idle?

Its common problem noticed on many old model Toyota vehicles.

Check and inspect all the motor mounts.

The motor mount that always causes this main vibration is the motor mount on the passenger side inner fender well. This is the one that has to be removed when doing a timing belt. It is a large mount that is bolted to the inner fender by the strut tower and attaches to the front timing cover portion of the engine. It is notorious to go bad and causes severe body vibration felt to the steering and floor pan.

The other possibilities that can cause this problem are:----

TPS, spark plug wires, distributer cap, spark coil, spark plugs itself or it can be Vacuum leak issues.

2005 Toyota Prius: Hybrid warning Light ON?

This is indication of System stored error codes. To confirm what the problem is retrieve the error codes.

This could mean anything from a engine control system malfunction to a malfunction in the hybrid control system. Without knowing the code numbers it is difficult to say for certain.
Try this basic reset procedure:----
Pull over to a safe spot and shut the system off. Wait for 5 min. then power the system backup does the ready light come on with the warning lights turned off? If they are still on try powering down the system one more time and restarting. At that point depress the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor for about 2 seconds to confirm whether the engine will start and run. If the engine will not start run, then you will eventually run the hybrid battery down and will need to be towed. If you go past a nearby AutoZone or similar parts store in most states they do free engine code reads. They will be able to access malfunction codes in the engine control computer but not the hybrid system. The engine control computer may give you enough information to troubleshoot further. Provided the gasoline engine continues to run and start up should be able to drive this another 25 miles or so.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2001 Toyota Corolla: Water Temperature Sensor Wire Details?

Water temp sensor testing details.
The Pin out details for water temp sensor.

The newer 2001 has 2 wire sensor :----
At the EFI water temperature sensor the white wire is the voltage wire from the engine control computer. This should be a 5 V reference signal when disconnected. When is connected it goes through to the Brown wire and on the ground. As the resistance in the sensor changes the voltage on this white wire will drop. Fully warmed up it should read about .5 V a cold engine generally will be around 3.25 V.

Also on older model 2001 Toyota's the There are three wires connecting to the water temp sensor. Like  brown, white and third is yellow with a green trace.

EFI water temperature sensor and coolant temperature sensor for the gauge unit are in the same sensor and it is in fact the three wire sensor. The later models did away with the sensor for the gauge unit and strictly use the EFI water temperature sensor which is a two wire sensor. Previously to this the sensors or two separate sensors a single wire sensor and a dual wire EFI temp sensor.

Here are the specifications for this sensor. The pin that goes to the yellow wire with a green tracer is as follows and is pin three: resistance is checked by probing this pin in any good ground.
3-GROUND : Approx. 160- 240 W (50°C, 122°F)
Approx. 17.1- 21.2 W (120°C, 288°F)

Pins number one and two which are the white wire to Brown wire pins and is a through type resistor is as follows:
1-2 : Approx. 14.96 kW (-20 °C, -4 °F)
Approx. 5.65 kW ( 0°C, 32°F)
Approx. 2.44 kW (20°C, 68°F)
Approx. 0.3143 kW (80°C, 176°F)

2001 Toyota Corolla: IAC Pin out Wire details?

Testing the Idle Air Control Motor and wiring details.

On the idle air control motor the middle pin is the 12 V signal or power feed. This is a black wire. With the connector disconnected you should have 12 V. The Brown wire is the ground wire that controls the ground circuit for this duty cycle solenoid valve. The black wire with a blue tracer is your pulse width modulation wire back to the engine control computer. The computer duty cycles this wire on a square wave pattern to control the on and off time of this Rotary control valve.

Also in cases of Idle issues,i will suggest to clean the IAC valve.

For that remove the throttle body and then remove the idle air control motor from the bottom of the throttle body. Clean both the bore and plate of the throttle body and clean the carbon from the idle speed control motor. This idle speed control motor is notorious for getting carbon buildup.

This details will help.

2001 Toyota Corolla: Idle Problem?

The engine idles at 1800 - 2000 rpm for more than a minute before it settles down to below 1500.

Th idle speed needs to be lowered. But its punctually perfect in this case.

Test by this procedure.
Where does the engine idle finally settle out at when the engine is warmed up after about 7 to 10 min. of driving?

It should be 700 to 800 RPM.
If its then all is good.
Where does the engine idle finally settle out at when the engine is warmed up after about 7 to 10 min. of driving?

Your final engine idle speed is normal. If it's taking more time than that to get down to 700 RPM then what I would recommend that you do is remove the throttle body and then remove the idle air control motor from the bottom of the throttle body. Clean both the bore and plate of the throttle body and clean the carbon from the idle speed control motor. This idle speed control motor is notorious for getting carbon buildup. As far as changing the speed when it's cold that is controlled by the computer. As long as you're under 2000 RPM and typically it will be at about 1700 when it's stone cold. It will not hurt to engage the transmission at that point although you will require a little extra brake pressure at a stop until it dials down to normal.

This details will help.
Thanks.

Lexus LS430: Navigation Disc Upgrade?

Its simple. You just have to insert the disc and follow the display instructions shown after you insert the disc.

Make sure the key remains in the ON position do not start the car.
On Lexus LS model  there are two different types of DVD units one has a slide door that you slide open then push a button to eject the disk the other one just has this an ejection button.
Eject the old disc then insert the new disc in the same position that the old disc was ejected. When the new disc is inserted monitor your screen and follow the display instructions. It should tell you not turn ignition off or the system off until it is fully loaded. That's about it.

This will help.

2003 Lexus ES300: Gears Not Shifting?

Vehicle Not Shifting Gears.

The first thing to be tried out in this cases is Turn on the car and press the brake pedal.Do you see brake lights coming ON or NOT.
When you push down on the brake pedal do the brake lights illuminate?

If no,then here is the problem.

This will not come out of Park until the shift interlock computer sees an input from the power side of the brake light switch. This could be anything from a bad brake light switch to a blown fuse for the brake lights. Check the fuse then see if you have power going to the brake light switch. If you need to get out of Park to move the vehicle you can use the shift override button just to the left of the shifter mechanism. Pop the small lid and use a screwdriver to push down on the lock override. There will be a picture of this in your owners manual.

This details will help.
