Jet Ski Not Starting?

Older Model Bombardier Seadoo Jetski will not start.
It feels like it will start but actually not getting started.

WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS?

There are many basic possibilities that can cause this.
If its sitting for long time before getting started then may be internal electric parts are got dirty and needs to be inspected and serviced if required.

First of all check the fuel in the system.If its low on gas then get it refilled and see if that is helping.

Other possibility is low battery charge.Get the battery tested and inspected.If volt is low then recharge the battery.If the battery terminals are dirty,then disconnect battery wires and clean them with contact cleaner,also clean the area where battery terminals are fitted and then see if that is helping.

BATTERY IS RECHARGED AND FUEL IS FULL?

If still the same problem is noticed then start with the basics, remove the plugs and inspect them, if they are black and sooty then its problem.The plugs will need to be replaced, 2 stroke engine require frequent plug replacement. If they look good inspect them for spark.
To check for spark, remove the plug and reconnect the wire to it, lay it on the cylinder head and look for a bright blue spark. It sounds to me like you likely only have a set of fouled plugs.
If spark is less and low then replace the plugs.First try cleaning the plugs and see if that makes any difference.If not then plugs are faulty and needs replacing.

ANY OTHER POSSIBILITY IF SPARK PLUGS CHECKED OK?

Yes,if plugs checked ok then It is possible that debris have come loose from the inside of the fuel tank and have now plugged up the carbs, at that point the carbs will need to come off and be serviced. To service the carbs the carbs needs to be completely disassembled and cleaned.
If you are not able to do this servicing,then get the carbs serviced at proper garage shop by professional mechanic.

Wet Engine Will not Turn Over?

Mostly after getting engine washed and serviced or after a heavy Rain,where Engine gets wet or water Gets entered to the inside f Engine,this problem will be noticed.

The Vehicle will start but not turn over.


The water has entered in the distributer cap. Remove the cap and use a hair dryer to dry the cap and inside the distributer out. Pull the wires and make sure no water is in the ends of the plug wires.

If you see water then let the complete water get dried out,before starting.

2001 Toyota Camry: No start After replacing Battery?

Common problem.
Other Control and Accessory options like radio,power windowsetc etc will also not work in some cases.

The Battery while replacing got mis-connected.You connected the battery in reverse or the other case is you jumped the car backwards with jumper wire.

This is done by many non profession car owners.Actually this mistake happens.

The wires gets connected in reverse and fuses in the fuse box gets shorted.

There are multiple fuses that are popped. You need to check them all. Inside behind the coin box and under the hood. Check the large box type fuses. The larger 100 amp ALT is known to blow and this is bolted into the fuse box it does not just pull out. The good news is that it rarely damages any computers and modules.Only fuses and relays get shorted in such cases.

If the 100/120 amp ALT fuse is popped take the plastic lid off and bend the tabs over to make them touch or use a jumper wire temporarily to power up the rest of the systems to see if it will start and for further testing and checking things. Then the fuse box has to be disassemble to get to the bolts to remove this fuse.

1989 Toyota Pickup Truck: Turns over but not start?

As per the Model number provided,it says that this truck has 22 RE Engine model.

in this types of cases there are multiple possibilities that can cause the problem.
Faulty spark plugs,issue with ignition coil,problem with connections,loose switch or shorted wires.

Also check the Fuses to EFI.If they are shorted then replace it.
Basically on this models you will notice that coil with the ignitor piggy backed to it.

On old car models the original wiring - use 'LUCAR' type piggy-back connectors on the solenoid and coil.

Now test this with test light or voltmeter.
There should be 12 volts to either side of the coil at each post with the key in the on position.

After that test for 12 V going to the 30 amp AM2 fuse.

If you do,then
The next step is to gain access to the electrical connector that goes to the ignition switch. At the ignition switch connector the larger gauge wires which are white with red should have 12 V and when you turn the key to the on position the black wire with a red tracer should have 12 V. These two wire should be next to each other, one is pin eight and one is pin seven.
There is a capacitor that is a noise reduction device that is a single black wire with a red tracer and is usually mounted right to the inner fender next to the ignition coil does this black wire with a red tracer have 12 V to it.

IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE:----
The capacitor connector that was unplugged which was where you described it on the fender well below the coil. It has 2 black wires with red lines. The capacitor is flat about an inch square and black in color. This tested with 1.70 volts.


The other connector was under the dash that which was the ignition switch harness. I did not disconnect when I checked for power. The white/red wire tested 12 volts and the black/red on the ignition switch side of the connector tested 12 volts with the key on.

The black/red that tested 1.70 volts with key on, was on the bottom of the connector.

This indicates there is Voltage drop.
This voltage drop would indicate either corrosion in the connector or in the key switch if you put a jumper wire from the black wire with a red tracer over to the black wire with a red tracer on the other side of the connector do you get 12 V out to the coil and to that capacitor? If you do then truck should start?

It should fire up with the jumper wire connected to the ignition harness. And  If you  disconnect the jumper, it will die.
More then likely it is the contacts in the switch but check the pins in the connector for loose fit or corrosion.Replacing the ignition switch and cleaning its wiring connections and connectors properly will help to resolve this issue.

Replacing Battery Cables on 1998 Lexus ES300?

This is common problem,noticed by many Lexus Es300 car owners.The vehicle will not start and due to this the battery is replaced,but still the vehicle will not stater.
But when the Battery cable connections are wiggled the car starts.In some cases when you tap the battery cables with rubber mallet/hammer then car starts.But this same problem repeats.

Due to this problem issues there are Universal battery cables available. Most auto parts keep this battery cables.At autozone they provide this cables.

The positive battery cable. Typically never fails on this vehicle and is incorporated into the engine main harness. The secondary cable goes up into the main fuse box and powers all of the electrical systems. Typically what happens is corrosion gets built up into the end of the connectors and maybe 1 inch into the wire. What you would need to do is cut the ends off and by universal positive battery cable and bolt the cable onto the universal cable and. Based on your description it sounds like you have a loose connection or corrosion issue in one of the battery cables. This is not going to be an issue in the wiring itself. The only other problem I have ever run into is the starter contacts in the starter solenoid itself have a tendency to wear and will cause a click noise but typically this will not affect any of the interior lights or headlights when this happens.

2001 Toyota Prius will not start?

Basically in most cases its seen that battery gets Kaput on Toyota Prius car models. This causes no start problem.

Check whether Multifunction display panel & speedometer display are working or not.If not then try this basics procedure.

You may have enough electricity to cause the peripheral electrical systems to operate but not enough to energize the hybrid main relay systems. It Is a quick easy test and check to do by simply applying a jumper cable to the 12 V battery.

Do you have a code reader that can read malfunction codes in the engine control computer?If yes then try reading code.

If the jumper cable procedure helps to light the Display,this clears that battery is issue.The is a good possibility. IF the battery is old I would replace it or at least have it checked at Auto Zone To start with.

If you notice that check engine light coming N and remaining steady on dash,then without forget get the error codes scanned,that are stored in your cars computer.The error codes will point towards the fault.
