2002 Buick Rendezvous: Add Refrigerant In A/C System?

How much refrigerant to Add.
How To Add Refrigerant.
Should the compressor be running.
When the A/C will start cooling after refrigerant is added.

I suggest getting this job done by proper professional garage tech. The A/C repair shop garage technicians all the required tools to get the refrigerant added to your Air-conditioning System.

I am not saying that you cannot do this task, but to do this you need all basic required tools.

Now For your Queries the solution and reply is as follows:-----------

As soon as you fill the refrigerant. It should start cooling right away. If not then it is still low. If the gauge on your can reads in psi, it should be at 28-35psi with the compressor on.You will have to fill until needle reads in that range.

Please Note If you fill too much refrigerant this can cause damage, which is why at shops they use a recycling machine to evacuate the system and measure that amount, then put that back in plus the needed amount. The procedure tell accurately how much refrigerant/Freon is required to make the system cool.

One more important note the gages on the cans which you buy at a store are not always accurate, which is why i recommend having a shop do it, but if you still want to do it yourself, stop adding when the pressure is between 28-35psi and you should feel cold air immediately with that pressure range, unless there is another issue with the ac system.Like System leak or issue with A/C wiring or circuit.

About how to add refrigerant is just have to connect the refrigerant can to the recharging port and letting the compressor run.

You cannot add refrigerant to the ac system on the low side if compressor is not running as the low side is the suction side and requires the compressor to suck the refrigerant in.If the compressor is not running then, It can only be added thru the high side which requires a recycling machine.

So, to do this at home, you will have to jumper the compressor to come on. To do this, you have to disconnect the harness connector to the compressor, and then run jumper wires from the battery to the compressor.

Once you do this, BEFORE adding refrigerent, check to see if the ac is blowing cold. If it is, then there is an issue in the wiring circuit to the compressor not allowing it to come on.

If it is not blowing cold, then add refrigerent to system until reading 28-35 psi. At that point, disconnect the jumper wires and plug the harness connector back in.

This will let your Air Conditioner blow cold/cooling air.

This details and possibilities will help.
Thanks.

High Oil Level on Dipstick

It can be the issue of some fluid or diesel leaking into the oil chamber/reservoir.

Inspect the Injectors.Injectors getting old, worn out or cracked.

If the injectors are leaking, that fuel washes past the pistons into the crankcase and raises the oil level.
Usually if that is the case then, you can smell the diesel fuel in the oil if you smell the dipstick.
If the injectors are not leaking severely you might not, but normally you will smell diesel on dipstick if diesel is leaking.

This is the most common reason on a diesel for this occurance.
But if that's not the case, then inspect the color or oil
If the oil looks milky or sludging, then it will be an issue with coolant, possible headgasket leaking into the crankcase and raising the oil level.

This are most common possibilities that can make/ increase oil level.

Inspecting this possibilities will help.
Thanks.

2007 KIA Spectra: A/c Blows Warm?

The Issue:---
At idle mode the A/C starts blowing warm air and Temperature starts raising.

On this issue ,i will say its Cooling fan related issue or its blockage in condenser. And A/C Condenser servicing is required.

In some cases you will notice that if you give gas when vehicle is in park mode the A/C will start giving cool air.Try this too.

The first thing you need to check is that the cooling fans are working. With engine idling and ac on, verify that the fans are working.
If not working, then the fan circuit will need to be tested to see if problem is bad fan motor, faulty relays, faulty ac pressure switch, faulty engine coolant temperature sensor, failed powertrain control module, or short in the wiring harness.

BUT..
If fans work, then condenser has a restriction in it. The condensor looks like a smaller radiator and is located between the radiator and front grille. In that case the condenser has to be replaced and ac lines flushed.

But in most of such cases the issue is related to fan,fan motor or fan control module.

Sounds like the condenser fan is either not operating at correct speed when idling or a restriction in the condenser.

Of the 2, I more suspect the condenser fan. This can be either due to a faulty fan motor or a fault in the fan motor control module.

This possibilities are to be checked.
This will help.
Thanks.

Overfilling oil in engine?

What happens if more quarts of oil is added to the Engine then mentioned in owners manual.

Please don't do this or ever try this. You will get your Vehicles Engine seized and damaged.

OR if you have already done this then drain the additional oil out of the reservoir and bring it to required exact capacity.

It will be ok to drive the car to a nearby shop to have the extra oil drained, but IT IS NOT ok to leave it in there for hundreds of miles or thousands of miles till next oil change.
For Example 1 qt extra is enough to damage the piston rings or valve seals or crankcase ventilation system if left in there over hundreds or thousands of miles.

If you are unable to drain it yourself, either have a friend come over and do it, or take to a nearby shop to have them drain the extra qt of oil for you.

Why to make New inventions when its not recommended and suggested.
Get your vehicle properly serviced get regular tune up done.Don't miss any vehicle service recommendation and let your vehicle live like its a new even after few years of its age.

This will help.
Thanks.

2003 Chrysler Town & Country: OBD Code P0171?

Check engine light code P0171.
This code says p0171 fuel system lean, bank 1 sensor 1.

The Sensor has to be replaced.

The most probable reason for this trouble code is a faulty oxygen sensor.
But before directly replacing O2 sensor i recommend to make sure there is no vacuum leak and also check wiring to the B1S1 O2 sensor. If all this checked ok,then replace the sensor.
Make sure to use a genuine Mopar oxygen sensor as I have seen too many troubles with aftermarket O2 sensors .Use quality parts and branded parts.

For you help:------
Bank 1 is the rear bank, closer to the firewall
Sensor 1 is the upstream O2 sensor ( in the exhaust manifold), that is before catalytic converter.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2006Ford Explorer: Engine Vibrates and gears slipping?

Feels like gears are slipping also engine shakes while start-up and lack of power while start up.

Its a multiple issue problem.

There are several possibilities that can cause this problem.

It does not sound to be a transmission issue.
When transmission is slipping, you can experience engine RPM goes up while the vehicle speed remains the same or it hardly accelerates.
In this case ,start your troubleshooting  from checking ignition system components such spark plugs and ignition cables. If it has been recently replaced, then it is a good idea to check your fuel system.
It is possible that your fuel pump fails to supply enough fuel to the injectors at times.
You will need to check it for fuel pressure when the problem exists.
Normal pressure should be about 30-40PSI. It could be done with a scan tool as your model has a fuel rail pressure sensor or with a pressure gauge.

This details will help.
Thanks.

1995 Jeep Wrangler: Clutch Failed?

Clutch stopped working.

On old model cars, its always issue with Broken or loose clutch cable.
But on 1995 Jeep wrangler,

It has a hydraulic operated clutch ,So there cannot be cable issue on this vehicles. On this system,When you depress the clucth pedal you just push the fluid into the slave cylinder that in turn moves the fork with the release bearing. It is possible that you have a leak somewhere in the system so that your master cylinder is empty or air entered the system.
It could also be a mechanical problem like a faulty clutch disc.
Check for fluid level in the master clutch cylinder and if OK, you will need to check it on a hoist just to see what happens when the clutch pedal is depressed.

This details will help.
Thanks.
