2006Ford Explorer: Engine Vibrates and gears slipping?

Feels like gears are slipping also engine shakes while start-up and lack of power while start up.

Its a multiple issue problem.

There are several possibilities that can cause this problem.


It does not sound to be a transmission issue.
When transmission is slipping, you can experience engine RPM goes up while the vehicle speed remains the same or it hardly accelerates.
In this case ,start your troubleshooting  from checking ignition system components such spark plugs and ignition cables. If it has been recently replaced, then it is a good idea to check your fuel system.
It is possible that your fuel pump fails to supply enough fuel to the injectors at times.
You will need to check it for fuel pressure when the problem exists.
Normal pressure should be about 30-40PSI. It could be done with a scan tool as your model has a fuel rail pressure sensor or with a pressure gauge.

1998Chevy Tracker: Knocking Sound From Engine?

Engine started making knocking due to low oil.The vehicle was driven for few miles and knocking started getting even louder.


you can try adding a qt of lucas oil treatment to try to quieten some, but it wont undo the damage already done. The deeper knocking is indicative of either a spun/seized rod or crankshaft main bearing.

Unfortunately the only real two choices to keep this vehicle are to either have a lower end rebuild, or install an used or remanufactured engine.

A rebuild will run about $2100 due to high labor hours involved. A used engine will run about $2200 parts and labor and a remanufactured engine will about $2800 parts and labor

Its recommended in manual as well as by many car garages that dont drive your vehicle when oil level is low.In most cases low oil warning light comes up,but if its not coming up,then manually get the oil level checked every quarterly month.

2005 Toyota Corolla: Rattle noise from engine?

While Driving Acceleration the Rattling noise is heard from Engine.
The noise is noticed while at low speeds as well as High Speeds.

The First thing to be Checked in this cases is ENGINE OIL.
When this engine gets low on oil it causes the timing chain to rattle due to the tensioner getting loose. Check the oil and Change the Oil if it is low.
Mostly the Low Engine Oil light comes ON when oil gets low.But some times this light dont come ON,that times this noise is indication to inspect the Engine oil.If the Oil is full and recently changed,then this noise can be the issue with valves and or timing chain.
The Noise will directly not stop after changing oil.It will decrease but will take some time to completely disappear.
I would give it some time and then recheck. If the oil change is due soon I would have it done with a new filter then just monitor the noise and see how it goes.
