How to remove door panel on Chevy Equinox?

The door panel is pried away from the door.

Start:

This Chevrolet Equinox has one screw and two hidden bolts holding the plastic door panel to the metaldoor shell.

But first the mirror cover had to be removed, by prying at the top of the cover to release the snap clip. Then pull upward to unhook the bottom.

Using a small screwdriver release the tab holding the wire connected to the speaker mounted in the cover.

Removing The Side View Mirror:

Using the small screwdriver again, remove the wire connected to the electric side view mirror.

Then with a 10mm socket remove the three nuts holding the mirror to the metal door shell. Caution: Hold on to the mirror, if it falls it can cause damage to the outside of the door or the mirror.

Remove the Phillips screw from the inside Door latch cover.

Then maneuver the cover off the handle.

You will find the hidden bolts under theargent molding that went across the plastic door panel. Using a small prying tool start at front of molding at the bottom edge.

pry outward and work in the direction of the rear of the panel, releasing the snap clips one by one start at the front because the molding hooks and clips in the rear.

remove the two 10mm bolts from the inside pull handel area.

Using a rigid putty knife pry the plastic door panel from the metal door shell. This door panel uses the old-fashioned snap-clips to hold the door panel to the door shell. This style merely needs to be lifted upward (once the screws are removed).

Then pull the plastic panel outward and upward from the metal door shell.

Removing The Rear Door Panel:

The rear door panel has the same hidden bolts as the front door, but first the upper cover has to be removed.

Using a prying tool, pry on the plastic upper cover near the top to release the snap clip.

Then with a screw driver remove the screw from the inside door latch cover.

With a prying tool, start prying at the front of the argent molding.

Working front to back, apply pressure to release the snap clips.

Using a 10mm socket remove the two bolts from the pull handle area.

With a rigid putty knife release the snap clips holding the plastic panel to the metal door shell.

Pulling outward and upward remove the plastic door panel.
