2003 Chrysler Town & Country: OBD Code P0171?

Check engine light code P0171.
This code says p0171 fuel system lean, bank 1 sensor 1.

The Sensor has to be replaced.


The most probable reason for this trouble code is a faulty oxygen sensor.
But before directly replacing O2 sensor i recommend to make sure there is no vacuum leak and also check wiring to the B1S1 O2 sensor.If all this checked ok,then replace the sensor.
Make sure to use a genuine Mopar oxygen sensor as I have seen too many troubles with aftermarket O2 sensors .Use quality parts and branded parts.

For you help:------
Bank 1 is the rear bank, closer to the firewall
Sensor 1 is the upstream O2 sensor ( in the exhaust manifold), that is before catalytic converter.

2007 Jeep Wrangler: OBD Error Code P2704?

Check Engine light code P2704.
Its a transmission related error code.


P2704 (INADEQUATE ELEMENT VOLUME 4C) trouble code usually means there is a mechanical problem within the transmission.
You computer just monitor a clutch volume index (CVI) and when it sees it is out of range, it just sets a trouble code.
You can check and update your computer software( if it is available) but it won't fix this trouble code as it is a mechanical issue.
Below is the description and possible causes:
Theory of Operation
The volumes of the transmission fluid needed to apply the friction elements are continuously monitored and learned for adaptive controls. As the clutch friction material wears, the volume of fluid needed to apply the clutch increases. Certain transmission mechanical problems can cause near-zero learned volumes resulting in setting a DTC.
Some possible reasons
BROKEN 4C RETURN SPRING OR DISLODGED SNAP RING
BROKEN 4C ACCUMULATOR SPRING(S)
HYDRAULIC LEAK IN THE VALVE BODY
TRANSMISSION SOLENOID/TRS ASSEMBLY
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)

1999 Lexus LX470: OBD CODE P1120 & 1121?

The mentioned codes are both related to faulty Accelerator Pedal Sensor.


These codes are accelerator pedal position sensor codes. Usually this is just a bad accelerator pedal position sensor. However, sometimes a dirty or bad throttle body can cause these codes. You could clean the throttle body first to see if this fixes these codes. Or you could check the voltage going to and coming from the accelerator pedal position sensor. It is possible that it is a wiring issue, but this would be rather unlikely.

The price will all depend on the shop that you bring it to and the part that has failed. A accelerator pedal position sensor is much cheaper to replace than the throttle body. A cleaning does not involve any parts except for the throttle body cleaner.. it would be just the labor to clean it.


The voltage range is going to be 0 to 5 volts. There should be two signal wires. One signal will go from about 1.0 volt slowly up to about 4.0 or 4.5 volts as the throttle is opened.

The other one will go from 4.0 or 4.5 volts down to about 1.0 volt or so as the throttle plate is open.
Be sure the voltage rises and decreases slowly and that there are no spikes or jolts in the voltage.
Also, be sure these tests are done with the key on.

2003 Toyota Camry: OBD Code P0037?

This is a 4Cylinder Vehicle.
In such cases you also get other error code like P0136.


The Error code P0037 means that the heater element in the oxygen sensor is below threshold and is not pulling enough current. Typically this means the heater element in the sensor is bad. The computer monitors the current flow through the heater element as the vehicle is started. If It is not within the proper amperage threshold it flags this code. The other code will follow due to the slow performance or response time of the oxygen sensor because the heater is not working. Please dont use Bosch oxygen sensors.They are good but  They do not work well on Toyotas. You need to remove the oxygen sensor and ohm test the heater element in the sensor. Ideally you need to buy a DENSO oxygen sensor. In a few rare cases I have seen where the oxygen sensor will actually burnout the driver in the computer that controls the ground path for the heater element in the oxygen sensor. To confirm this you need to ohm test this sensor.


On a Bosch sensor not sure the color coding of the wires of the actual sensor but on a DENSO there are two black wires a white wire any blue wire that come from the sensor to the connector. The two black wires are the heater circuit. Bank one sensor two is the sensor that is after the catalytic converter/manifold assembly.


You can do ohm testing with the sensor installed you just have to disconnect the electrical connector and place your ohmmeter across the two pins that correspond with the heater circuit which should be the two black wires if Bosch uses the two black wires.

The Ohm reading  should be .9 ohms up to and no more than 1.2 ohms resistance.

2000 Toyota Tacoma: OBD Code P1300 Engine Starts and Quits Running?

Yes due to code P1300 ,you will notice such problems.

The coil in number 1 cylinder is bad. The p1300 is an igniter signal failure and if switched with the coil swap it is bad and this will make the engine stop after a few seconds of running.

The code P1300 is for cylinder no. 1. It is bad.Replacing it will help.

Also in some cases you notice Error code P1305 comes up, in that cases try swapping ignition coil 2 with ignition coil 1 and see if you get error code P1300, if yes then ignition coil cylinder  number 1 is bad.

1997 Toyota Camry: Obd Codes P0330 and P1780?

When the check engine light comes ON dash.This indicates that error codes are stored in vehicles computer.Scanning the ECM retrieves the OBD codes.
In case of Toyota Camry

P0330:--- The P0330 is the knock sensor for bank 2 which is the front bank of cylinders. The knock sensor is located under the intake manifold. Change the sub wiring harness also.

And
P1780: The P1780 is an issue with the Park Neutral safety switch. The switch is not the problem though. The wiring in the trunk that comes off of the main harness and goes up the drivers side hinge gets broken inside the tape and tubing and it shorts out and the reverse lights send voltage back through the wiring to the NSW and sets this code.

2006 Toyota Camry: Vapor leaks in charcoal canister?

Basically in this cases you get check engine light on dash.This is indication of error codes stored in cars computer.The scanning will give you codes to look for.
In most cases you get series of codes like
P0441, P0446 and P0455.

This P0455 is a leak code and is your primary problem. The other two codes normally will set by default when there is a leak in the system. Do you have a smoke machine or any way to test for vapor leaks in the charcoal canister system?

The Procedure for Smoke test runs as follows:---
This EVAP system uses a close canister valve or CCV built into the charcoal canister itself. You will need to pinch off the rubber hose that goes up to the filler neck from this CCV otherwise smoke will come out of there then pressurize the system with the green port under the hood. Check for leaks. The most common leak was usually because of rust around the seal of the gas cap on the filler neck. I have also seen the CCV which is part of the charcoal canister seal also fail. Unfortunately you have to purchase the canister to get this valve.

2007 Toyota Tundra: Water in gas Tank?

This problem occurs many a times the water gets into the Gas/ Fuel Tank.
The water gets in the form of moisture.
 And this causes Check engine light to Come ON.In most of Such cases the O2 Sensor Error codes are noticed.
If the check engine light is on can you get the code numbers read again? Most auto-parts stores do free code reads.
The vehicle skid control and traction control warning lights come on by default when the check engine light is illuminated.

The mostly noticed codes in this cases are P0171 and P0174.

P0171 bank 1 system too lean and P0174 bank 2 system too lean .

When I have an issue with moisture in the tank I by straight rubbing alcohol from the drugstore. This is usually 99% ethanol/alcohol. This will directly mix with water and then allow it to be burn.Or you can add Seafoam to the gas tank.Please note that Seafoam brand which you use should contain Ethanol ion it.If there is no ethanol in it then dont buy the Seafoam.


The only thing that helps with water or moisture in the tank is ethanol. The ethanol mixes with water and allows it to burn out of the system. The P0171 and P0174 codes are probably due to the moisture or bad fuel. When it burns it's not burning as efficient as regular gasoline and this screws up the reading from the AFR sensors. Provided the check engine light is not flashing it will not be necessary to drain this gas out. If you're experiencing any loss of performance or the check engine light starts to flash you will need to drain the bad gas out because this could then cause catalytic converter damage. The only ill effect you will have from these two lean condition codes is that it may lack in performance because it is running slightly lean due to the poor gasoline.

Now After this dirty old water mix gas gets empty/ over  the Check engine light if its Steady ON dash,this should go out.But if its not Going OFF,then it has to be reset.

Simply remove the negative battery cable in this will clear the memory in the engine control computer. If you start truck and it does not want to idle correctly at that point you will need to clean the throttle plate and bore. If excessive carbon gets built up in there it takes a long time for the memory in the computer to relearn the idle setting.
