ROUGH IDLE,IDLE LOW,ENGINE DIES WHILE IDLE.
There are few possibilities that can cause switch problems.
Inspect the fuel filter,throttle body,IAC valve.
The General cause for idling issues is usually related to the throttle body and or idle air control motor which bolts to the bottom of the throttle body. When carbon gets built up around the throttle valve and inside this idle air control motor it will cause issues and make it idle rough or stall. Throttle body needs removed and clean thoroughly with carburetor and choke cleaner along with this idle air control motor which is an idle speed setting device. If you cannot remove the throttle body sometimes just wiping the throttle body cleaned with a rag and cleaner than spraying cleaner down into the open port in the throttle body which goes to the idle air control motor this can help the least is a start.
The second most common issue is usually related to the EGR valve sticking open. While the engine is idling normal remove the vacuum line going to the EGR valve then drive the vehicle to see if the problem goes away. If it does then you know that the EGR valve the sticking open. If the check engine light illuminates this will be caused because of the vacuum line being disconnected and the computer detects no flow through the EGR valve. Removing the negative battery cable will clear this code and shut the light off.
