Its a oil leak related issue.
These vehicles are known for valve guide seal leaks the puff of smoke is from the oil leaking past the seals overnight and burns on initial start up. Then goes away. Normally it does not use that much oil and if you can deal with the initial puff of smoke you should be ok. The repair can run $800 to $1200.
For basis testing check the oil passing line,the oil filter,the oil seals,the oil pressure.
